“Science and technology, natural organisms and the human body in all its forms have always inspired me. I use various materials, such as wax, latex, fluids but especially transparent materials and glass, which I use as a metaphor for a membrane, as a fragile yet robust skin that allows light to pass through and reveal the hidden interior. "Memory of a Malformation " 2006 is a 3D laser etching of my cousins Venus Arterial Malformation in the brain.” Katharine Dowson
