| CP Northumberland asked Corinne Lewis to work with three schools over a period of 5 weeks in the summer term of 2006. Each school had specific curriculum requirements. The individual schools aims and objectives culminated in the final artworks that are currently displayed in the school grounds.
Whalton First School - Whalton were the first school to approach me with their ideas. They suggested that we visit Bolam Lake near Belsay as their current project dealt with habitats and the creatures that could be found in an environment like Bolam Lake. We spent a day photographing and a day exploring digital imaging. The pupils at Whalton produced a number of stunning pastel artworks, a select few were used for the final artwork that is now installed in the school grounds.
Longhorsley First School - Longhorsley required a more intensive relationship with me. They scheduled about ten sessions where we went to a couple of their chosen outdoor locations, I introduced the digital imaging software that the school had installed to the pupils and they learnt to combine their photographic work with their 2D drawing and paintings. The final artwork produced by myself, used similar but more advanced digital imaging techniques.
Cambo First School - Cambo first scheduled a visit to the wonderful Wallington Hall in Northumberland. The pupils learnt how to photograph outdoors effectively and to use their digital imaging software. The final artwork that I produced using digital imaging techniques has been printed onto acrylic and is installed in the play area at Cambo First School, meeting their brief requirements. |
